The Trustees, staff & volunteers wish to express their gratitude to Mullion Golf Club members and their outgoing Club Captain Mr Wilf Hutchinson for the great effort made in raising a total of £3350 for the Charity. Wilf decided to make our Charity his nominated Charity for support throughout his year long captaincy period ending in March ’18. He thought that our Charity which provides Veterinary care mainly for those in greater financial need was one that he particularly wanted to help especially as he is very interested in Animal welfare. Wilf arranged weekly lotteries, raffles and encouraged more than 40 members to become members of our Charity and pay £5 each membership fees. In particular a prestigious raffle prize of a magnum of Red Wine in a beautiful presentation case from Ernie Els, the Open Champion in 2012, from his vineyard in South Africa to celebrate his ‘Open’ victory was highly sought after. Wilf would like to thank all the local businesses that donated prizes for his raffles including St Austell Brewery, Brittany Ferries, Cornish Pirates, Harbour Inn Porthleven, Rodney Inn Helston and the B Gorgeous beauty saloon in Helston.
Everyone at The Charity is most grateful to Wilf and all those who helped him achieve this wonderful sum of money which will go into the bank towards our exciting new Rehabilitation Centre project at the Vets site at Treleigh, near Redruth. From a personal point of view it was a pleasure to work with Wilf on his fundraising initiative. His enthusiasm and commitment throughout the year was amazing and I witnessed recently whilst spending a few hours at Mullion Golf Club with him on his ‘Captains Day’ event just how hard he was working to promote our Charity. Please accept my own personal thanks for all your efforts Wilf and I look forward to meeting you again going forward.
